Welcome to Night Vale is a podcast presented as a radio show for the fictional town of Night Vale, reporting on the strange events that occur within it. The project stemmed from my time spent working on photograms in the darkroom while listening to the podcast. The first iteration of imagery for the posters came through the use of found items and lasercut wood graphics to creat a 4 panel photogram inspired by the episode “Briny Depths”.Taking what I learned from the photogram I recreated the original design in Adobe Illustrator, adding elements of color and created graphics for the physical objects used in the design. Additionaly I designed the type to accompany the pieces, adhering to the strange themes of the show.
